The EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League is pleased to announce the format of the BCSPL League Cup, presented by Tommy Gun’s Original Barbershop, with the League Cup Finals hosted by Coastal FC.
The BCSPL fall season is positioned as a round robin format for all age groups, followed by seeded quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. Having made this change to a round robin format 3 years ago, the BCSPL has placed an emphasis on ensuring the development initiatives of all clubs are maintained by having all teams make the playoff rounds. In this way, all teams can approach every round robin game with a development first mindset knowing all teams earn a seeded playoff spot regardless of League Cup round robin results.
The quarterfinals kickoff on the November 4/5 weekend, with the semifinals on November 11/12, and with each game hosted by the highest seeded team based on the round robin standings.
The League Cup Finals on November 18/19 will be hosted by Coastal FC with all games taking place at South Surrey Athletic Park for U13 trough U17 age groups. The U13 intake teams (2005 born) do not compete in the League Cup, and play the intake festival on opening weekend followed by a 7 game exhibition series against every other intake team as their introduction to the BCSPL during the fall season.
